Mai Vang

Mai Vang is an aspiring fashion designer. She grew up learning how to embroider intricate designs from her mother, and took her passion to The Art Institute in San Francisco. It was there that she honed her skills in sewing, patternmaking, and Adobe Illustrator. She graduated with her A.S. in Fashion Design in 2008, but moved back to Sacramento to take care of her ailing father. After a four-year hiatus, she began to sketch the workings that inspired her creations presented on this website.

Mai has always been inspired by her Hmong culture, and its bright, and colorful clothing. She also has a big admiration for Chanel and Schiaparelli. Her 2015 Spring/Summer Ready to Wear line consists of pure, simplistic styles, with a modern edge, and intense primary hues that stand out. Almost all silhouettes are loose fitting, for relaxed comfort, and movement-just the way Mai likes to live.

Mai hopes to create a fashion house that will continue as a legacy.
